Norwich
City's veterans participated in the Football Masters tournament for the
first time in 2003 Playing at Coventry on 15th June 2003, Norwich's side consisted of: BRYAN GUNN (Commercial Manager, Norwich City) NEIL ADAMS (Coach, Norwich City Academy) KEITH SCOTT (Player, Leigh RMI) DALE GORDON (Coach, Ipswich Town Academy JEREMY GOSS (Coach, Norwich City Academy) MIKE MILLIGAN (Formerly with Blackpool) IAN BUTTERWORTH (Assistant Manager, Cardiff City) ROBERT FLECK (Manager, Diss Town) ROB NEWMAN (Former Manager, Southend United) IAN CULVERHOUSE (Youth Team Coach, Leyton Orient The first game was drawn 1-1 with Coventry. Newman scored Norwich's goal whilst DAVE PHILLIPS netted for the Sky Blues The second game saw the Canaries lose 3-1 to Leicester where yet again a former Canary scored for the opposition; this time in the form of TONY SPEARING. Norwich's goal came from Neil Adams. The final game came against arch rivals Ipswich and finished 4-4 with Newman (2), Scott and Goss getting Norwich's goals. These results meant Norwich finished bottom of their group and would not proceed to the final round of the tournament. |
