Former Southampton Academy player Ibby Akanbi played for Norwich in an Under-18 friendly match on 13th July 2013.
He wasn't taken on by Norwich after the trial and joined Crystal Palace later that month, turning professional in the summer of 2014. He did not play any first team games for Palace.
A centre-forward, he later played for non-league sides Guildford City, Whyeleafe (October 2016), Whitehawk (February 2017), Billericay Town (August 2017), Kettering Town (December 2017), Northampton Sileby Rangers, Wellingborough Town (Spring 2018), Farnborough (Summer 2018), Maidstone United (July 2019), Aldershot (August 2021), Dagenham & Redbridge (September 2022), Dulwich Hamlet (September 2022), Worthing (October 2022), Tonbridge (August 2023) and St Albans City (September 2023). Whilst at St Albans, he was loaned to Dartford in February 2024. He was released by St Albans at the end of the 2023/24 season. He also trialled with Southend in July 2022
