Norwich City signed defensive midfielder Ibrahim Amadou on loan from Sevilla on 7th August 2019.
Bron in the Cameroon, he moved to France aged 4 living in Colombe where jhe played for local side AS Cheminots de l'Ouest. He then spent four years with Racing Club de Paris before joining Nancy's Academy in 2008.
Amadou made his professional debut on 26 May 2013, playing one minute in the last matchday of the Ligue 1 season against Stade Brestois. His first goal for Nancy came in August 2014 againts US Orleans in Ligue 2
He moved to Lille on 16th Juoy 2015 for 2 million Euros having played 57 games for Nancy's first team. He made 87 league appearances for Lille even becoming club captain in 2017/18.
On 2nd July 2018, he moved to Sevilla and made 32 league appearances in 2018/19
He is a French Under-19 international but has been called up by Cameroon which he rejected.
Amadou made his Norwich debut in the 1-0 defeat to Crawley in the Carabao Cup (League Cup) on 27th August 2019. He made 13 appearances for City but could not displace Alex Tettey and was used out of position as a centreback. He did however play in the classic victory over Manchester City, On 30th January 2020, rumours saw hinm linked with a switch to Italian side Genoa. On 31st January 2020, his loan was cut short and he was then loaned to Spanish top flight struggler Leganes. He made 10 appearances for Leganes.
Despite enquiries from Brest and Strasbourg, Amadou was loaned to French side Angers on 5th October 2020 for a season long loan.
On 13 January 2022 Amadou moved to French side Metz on a contract until the end of the 2021/22 season with an option to extend for two further seasons.
On 1st September 2022 he returned to Angers on a one year contract. He terminated his contract by mutual consent on 18th March 2023 and signed for Chinese Super League side Shanghai Shenhua 12 days later.
