Biography

Young goalkeeper Caleb Ansen was on the bench for Norwich City's Under-18s for the 1-0 defeat to West Brom on 30th October 2021. According to the newsletter from Stewards Academy in Harlow, Caleb joined Norwich in the spring of 2021 but the club website states he signed with Norwich at Under-13 level in 2018. Previously he was at Harlow Town where he was scouted by the Canaries.

Ansen signed an apprentice's contract with Norwich in July 2022. It was reported that Caleb has a massive frame for a goalkeeper (6’6), making him a brilliant shot-stopper.

On 16th November 2022 he signed his first professional contract with Norwich. "I'm very proud," he said. "It's obviously a proud moment for me, I've been at the club since I was 13 or 14 years old. To get a professional contract, it's a proud moment for me and my family.I came from grassroots football, so Norwich are the first academy I've been a part of. It's a great honour to play for the club, and the club have treated me beautifully. I'm a very commanding goalkeeper, I like to make big saves, I'm very loud on the pitch. And obviously there's some parts of my game which I can work on, which is very important too." Norwich City Head of Football Development Steve Weaver said: "We are delighted that Caleb has signed his first professional contact and we look forward to him pushing the under-21 goalkeepers. He has improved under the guidance of Greg Crane and Declan Rudd, with some excellent performances this season."

On 16th October 2023 he signed a new contract with Norwich keeping him at Carrow Road until 2026 with an option of a further year. On 24th October 2023 he was named on the Norwich bench for the home clash with Middlesbrough as Angus Gunn was injured. He retained that position for the trip to Sunderland on 28th October.
