England Under-16 and
Arsenal striker Shabbaz Baidoo trialled for the Canaries in their
Under-19 clash with Millwall on 7th February 2004. Shabazz
played again for the Under-19s against Birmingham on 13th March
2004. He progressed from QPR's youth team to make his Rangers
debut aged 16 at the end of the 2004/5 season due to an injury
crisis at Loftus Road. As of the end of the 2006/7 season, he
had made 28 appearances for QPR scoring 3 goals
Shabazz joined Gillingham on loan in November 2007 but failed
to make a single appearance for the Kent side
Baidoo was placed on the transfer-list by newly wealthy QPR in
early January 2008 as Rangers sought to replace their squad with
players able to take them into the Premiership. On 13th January
2008, the People suggested that Dagenham & Redbridge
would sign Baidoo as their leading striker Paul Benson is injured.
This became reality on 17th January 2008 with a contract that
lasts until the end of the 2007/8 season. An injury sustained
son after joining the Daggers limited his opportunity to impress
the East London side and he was informed in May 2008 that his
contract would not be renewed.
In July/August 2008, Shabazz trialled with Conference newboys
Lewes. He finally signed for them on 5th September 2008. He was
released at the beginning of October 2008 for financial reasons
following the return of Chamal Fenelon from a loan spell with
Ryman Leaguers Tonbridge Angels. Manager Kevin Keehan said: "It
was a financial thing. I can't keep Chamal and Shabazz."
Baidoo had made 5 appearances for Lewes. He subsequently joined
Croydon Athletic before moving to Biggleswade Town.
In his spare time Baidoo is also a Grime MC, his alias being
"MC Terminator" and was a member of North London Grime
crew "Cold Blooded".
