Biography

Billy Bates, a strong centre-half from Cheshunt, joined West Ham United from Norwich in September 2020, He had previously been with Leyton Orient (costing Norwich £36,000) and had suffered a bad knee injury prior to joining the Hammers.

He made three appearances in 2020/21 for West Ham's Under-18s but was ruled out of the following season with injury.

On 24th January 2024 he was loaned to Isthmian League side Cheshunt. He had played for the Ambers as a youth.

He returned to Cheshunt on 26th June 2024
