On Transfer Deradline Day (1st September 2025) Norwich completed the signing of midfielder Zach Baumann from Manchester United. The teenager has joined the Canaries on a free transfer, although the Red Devils have inserted performance bonuses into the deal. Baumann will link up with City's development squad initially.  He has signed a contract with Norwich until 2027 with City retaining a 12 month option.

Baumann was born in Bolton to Ukrainian parents originally from Kolomyia and represents the country at under-18 level. He has two caps and made his debut in a 2-1 Uefa Euro U19 qualifying defeat to Kazakhstan in November 2024. He signed his first professional contract with Manchester United in September 2024 after being with them since childhood. Baumann has made 41 appearances for their youth sides including 10 for the U212s. He had helped the Under-18s win the league title and the 2023/24 Under-18 Premier League Cup.
