Liverpool's young striker Niall Byrne played for the Canaries in an Under 21 friendly against Bristol City on 21st April 1999 hoping to win a contract with Norwich as he was soon to be released by Liverpool. An informant on the Football Transfers website message board told me that Niall had joined Irish side St Patrick's Athletic but due to injuries had failed to break into the first team. Niall is currently with Longford Town.
