Derby County left back
Mo Camara was signed on loan by the Canaries on 20th November
2007 after it was revealed that Adam Drury
would miss the remainder of the season after having surgery to
repair a knee ligament injury
The 32 year old Guinea-born defender joined Derby as a free agent
from Celtic in the summer of 2006, but has only made two appearances
for the Rams this season.
Camara began his professional career in France playing for Beauvais,
Troyes (on loan), Le Havre and Lille. He was signed by Wolves
in 2000 where he made 45 appearances. He moved on to Burnley in
2003 on a free transfer where he quickly became popular with the
Burnley fans. After two seasons, and 90 appearances, for Burnley,
he moved to Celtic on a Bosman free transfer. He made just 19
appearances for the Glasgow giants before moving to Derby
Camara made his Norwich debut on 24th November 2007 in the 2-0
home win over Coventry City. Impressing in his loan spell with
Norwich, it was extended on 4th January 2008 until the end of
the 2007/8 season. Mo completed the season having made 23 appearances
for the Canaries,
Returning to Derby, Mo was loaned out again on 5th August 2008,
joining Blackpool following injuries to left-backs Stephen Crainey
and Joe Martin. Initially loaned until 30th August, this was extended
until the 22nd November 2008, He then returned to Derby, playing
in their 1-0 win over Man Utd in the Carling Cup semi-final.
Camara joined St Mirren on 13th February 2009 on a short term
contract until the end of the 2008/9 season. The Guinea international
was deemed surplus to requirements at Derby by new manager Nigel
Clough and had his contract cancelled on 2nd February 2009, enabling
him to sign for a new club
A year later, Mo was released by St Mirren having made 13 appearances.
On 11th February 2010, Mo signed for Torquay for the remainder
of the season. He made just 2 appearances for the Gulls before
being released at the end of the season
Camara returned to Derby in 2014 as their European scout. In 2017 he switched to being a part time scout for Manchester United's academy. In 2017 he opened a wine and jazz bar, Chill, in High Street, Tettenhall,
