Newman Carney trialled with Norwich's Under-18s in the summer
of 2011, playing in friendly matches against Billericay and in
the Cars4All trophy against Leicester and Southend.
As a 12 year old, Newman attended Luton's first talent identification
programme and was soon promoted to the club's performance centre.
Then playing for Dunstable Ickneild, he moved to Luton's centre
of excellence as an Under-14
After completing his GCSEs, he joined Luton on a full time basis
making his debut in a pre-season match with Kilmarnock. His senior
debut came as a substitute in an FA Trophy match at Welling
He is a left footed defender who can play at either left-back
or centre-back.
After a loan spell at Kettering, he left Luton in September 2012
by mutual consent and joined Dunstable Town. In August 2013, he
signed for Conference side Braintree.
