David Chick was a left sided defender from Sprowston High School
who made his international debut for England Schoolboys against
Northern Ireland on 20th October 2000. He signed for Norwich's
Academy in 2001
After a year plagued with injuries, David was named Player of
the Tournament at the Lyngby Cup in Denmark in the summer of 2003.
At the end of January 2004, Norwich announced that David, along
with Damian Batt and Greg
Crane, would not be offered professional terms by the Canaries.
He signed for King's Lynn and made his debut as substitute in
the 4-1 win over Banbury on 7th February 2004, a win that took
the Linnets to the top of the Dr Martens Eastern Division.
David embarked on a trial with Boston United on 11th February,
alongside Greg Crane, and scored one of Boston United Reserves'
goals in a 4-0 defeat of their counterparts from York. He also
played for Cheltenham's Reserves against Oxford on 18th February
which was won 5-1 and led to a repeat trial the following week.
He has also been invited to a trial with Bristol Rovers. David
played again for Boston's reserves on 10th March against their
counterparts from Scunthorpe who fielded Paul
Hayes in their line-up. Boston won 3-0.
David spent the 2004/5 season with Kings Lynn. In July 2005,
he trialled with Rob Newman's Cambridge
United, playing for them against Mildenhall and Ipswich. This
led to him signing terms for the Us and making his debut for them
at Forest Green Rovers on the opening day of the 2005/6 season.
David was released by Cambridge in February 2006.
In October 2006, David joined Peterborough Unied on trial, playing
in a friendly on 3rd October 2006 against Gainsborough Trinity
alongside Senegalese trialist Alou Fenson & Danny Morgan.
Not taken on hy The Posh, David joined Cambridge City for the
remainder of the 2006/7 season but was released at the end of
the campaign. He joined Boston United in September 2007.
During October 2007, David returned to Cambridge City but after
just one substitute appearance, he left the club. He joined Bishops
Stortford in October 2008. In December 2008, he was loaned AFC
Sudbury
By early 2013, David was playing for Hume City FC in Melbourne,
Australia
