Chris Cleaver was a Norwich City schoolboy who was released to
join Peterborough United as a trainee. He made his league debut
for the Posh against Shrewsbury on October 29th 1996. By the end
of the 1996/97 season, Chris had made 13 league appearances although
he had yet to open his goalscoring account.
In order to gain first team experience , he joined non-league

October 1999 when Chris joined King's Lynn on loan making his
debut against Crawley on October 30th 1999. Although he returned
to Peterborough after a month, Chris was on his travels again
the following February when he joined Cambridge City (also of
the Dr Martens League) on loan. This was extended until the end
of the 1999/2000 season. Chris was given a free transfer by Peterborough
in mid May 2000 and headed to Finland to play for TP Seinajoki.
After two seasons with TP
Seinajoki in which he scored 12 goals, Cleaver transferred
to FF Jaro in 2002
He later moved to AC Allianssi for whom he played against Northern
Irish side Glentoran in the UEFA Cup; a game won by the Irish.
In Aprl 2005, AC Allianssi won the Finnish League Cup with Cleaver
scoring in a 3-1 victory in the final.
