Full-back David Cooper
is a member of Norwich City's Under-16s side who, along with Danny
Kelly, had a trial with the Republic of Ireland Under-16s
in January 2007. David, who comes from Mildenhall, was spotted
by Youth Developement Officer Colin Watts when he was an Under-12
plaing for Mildenhall
In February 2006, he was offered a scholarship with the Canaries
to commence in August 2007.
Republic of Ireland youth coach Sean McCaffrey said in March 2007
"There is another young lad at Norwich who plays at Under-16
level called David Cooper. We've had him in and he has done very
well. He is a quick, skilful full-back and technically he is very
good. He's definitely one for the future. "
David wasn't offerred a professional contract by Norwich when his
scholarship ended in the spring of 2009. He played for Newmarket
Town before joining Mildenhall. He moved to Bury Town for 2017/18 before returning to Mildenhall in the summer of 2018.
