Midfielder Giovanni (Rui) Da Costa became a first year Academy scholar at Norwich City in July 2015 Scholarships are usually for two years but his was extended to a third year in 2017 in order to give him more time to impress following injury problems.

In late March, he trialled with QPR playing for their development side against Burnley. On 4th May 2018, it was announced that he would be released and not offered a new contract by City.
