Born in Harlow but
raised in Waltham Forest, Charlie attended Highams Park School
(as did my wife Jo). This left sided midfielder originally trained
with Norwich. Charlie scored twice in seven appearances for Tottenham's
Under-17s in 2002/03 and made one appearance as substitute for
the Under-19s.
Charlie was loaned to Chesterfield during the early part of 2007,
making his league debut against Leyton Orient - but had to return
early due to a knee ligament injury.
Charlie joined Leyton Orient on a season long loan on 5th August
2007. "The left-sided positions were ones that needed
strengthening," said Orient boss Martin Ling "Spurs
value him as one for the future - he has just signed a new two-year
contract with them."
Daniels returned to Tottenham at the end of the 2007/8 season
having made 30 appearances for Orient, scoring twice
On 27th August 2008, Charlie was loaned out again - this time
joining Gillingham for a month. Manager Mark Stimson told BBC
Radio Kent: "We've been looking at Charlie for a while.
He's got a decent left foot and will add balance on the left side.
The boy's got talent."
Daniels rejoined Orient on 6th January 2009 signing an 18 month
contract with the East London side.
After making 137 appearances for Orient, he joined Bournemouth
on loan on 24th November 2011 ahead of an expected £200,000
transfer on January 2nd 2012 when the transfer window re-opens.
"I think he is one of the best left-backs in the league"
said Cherries boss Lee Bradbury "He is a good age, a good
athlete and has a really good left foot and ticks all the boxes.
This sends out a really good signal about where the club is going."
.
Daniels and Bournemouth won promotion to the Championship on
27th April 2013.
Daniels made just two appearances in 2019/20 as Bourmeouth were relegated from the Premier League ending their five year stint at the top flight.
On 23td October 2020 he signed for Shrewsbury Town on a short term contract until January 2021. He played 16 games for Shrewsbury, scoring twice. On 23rd January 2021 he signed a short-term contract with Portsmouth and made 18 appearances, scoring once before he was released at the end of the season.
On 17th August 2021 Daniels signed for Colchester on a one year contract following a successful trial. He made his debut as a substitute in the 1-1 draw with Mansfield on the same day.
In January 2022 he chose to retire from playing and focus on his coaching role. He had played 19 times for Colchester. He had also started coaching at Watford's Under-18s. He became lead coach for Watford's Under-18s in August 2022.
In June 2024 he signed for Mid Sussex Premier League side Westfield FC along with former Bournemouth and Newcastle defender Dan Gosling. Westfield are part-owned by former Bournemouth defender Steve Cook
