Former Norwich City
youth team (1991) striker Armando Di Mello hit the headlines for
all the wrong reasons.
The Daily Telegraph reported on
18th November 1997 that "Armando di Mello, the former Falkirk and
Cowdenbeath forward now with Scottish non-league side Edinburgh
City, has been banned from the game until May 31 2000 after appearing
before the Scottish Football Association's referees' disciplinary
committee. He was reported for remarks made to the referee after
being sent off in an East of Scotland League match against Edinburgh
Athletic on Sept 13". Armando had made 6 appearances for Cowdenbeath
in the 1995/96 season. Armando had made 16 appearances for Norwich's
youth team in 1989/90 and two the following season before joining
Falkirk.
