22 year old Danish
striker Ulrik Drost came on as substitute for
Paul
Dalglish in the 49th minute of Norwich's clash with Swedish
side Nordost on July 24 1999. Ulrik was available on a free transfer
but formerly played for Boldclub Herfolge (1994-99). Previously
he was with Greve (1993-94). Ulrik was interested in signing for
the Canaries but
Bruce Rioch decided not
to pursue this signing. Ulrik has also had a trial with Nottingham
Forest.
The following information was posted by
Dag
T Hoelseth on the
Unofficial
Norwich City Message Board in November 1999. "After returning
from his trial periods in Nottingham Forest and Norwich City, he
was in August transferred from Herfolge, the current Danish Premier
League leaders, to the 1st Division side B93 København. He is currently
joint top scorer with 9 goals in 15 league matches, but he has also
wasted a lot of chances and when he becomes more efficient, the
goals will really flow in for the team, whose chances of getting
promotion are great. He is said to be a great addition to the team."
