Ryan Elton began his connection with Norwich as a coach with the Community Sport Foundation between 2009 and 2016. He then became Academy Football Coach at Easton and Olney Coach before returning to Norwich in July 2014 to be the Foundation and Youth Development Phase coach at the Academy. In May 2016 this changed to being physical movement coach at the Academy before he became the Under-18s sports scientist in July 2017.

He joined Chelsea in July 2018 as part of their international football development team before moving to Cambridge United in November 2019 where he was Lead Youth Development Phase Coach for their 15 and 16 year olds.

In March 2023 he returned to Norwich as an academy coach.
