Embleton started his coaching career under Martin Ling at Leyton Orient, working alongside Luke Williams at Brisbane Road.
He then worked in a number of different roles for AFC Bournemouth, Norwich City and Tottenham Hotspur before taking up a position as first team coach at Swindon in November 2015. He left the Robins at the end of the 2016/17 season
Ross returned to Orient in July 2017 joining the Conference newcomers as assistant first team coach to Martin Ling. He had a brief spell as interim head coach in November 2017
In June 2019 he became interim manager following the death of Justin Edinburgh but was replaced by Carl Fletcher on 17th October 2019 with Embleton returning to his Assistant Head Coach role.
Embleton returned to managing Orient, albeit on a temporary basis, on 14th November 2019 when Fletcher was sacked after failing to win any games during his 29 days in charge. Embleton was then appointed head coach in January 2020 on a rolling 12-month deal. He was sacked on 27th February 2021 following a run of seven games without a win.
