Wisbech yougnster Danny Emmington will never forget 2011 – the dream year he made his first team debuts for Wisbech’s football and cricket teams aged just 16. The former Norwich City Academy youngster’s real passion remains with football – where he has shone in midfield for the Fenmen’s under-18s and reserve teams.He was given his first start by Steve Appleby during October’s 5-0 home Cambs Invitation Cup win over Littleport Town. Emmington, now 17, said: “Even though half of me hopes I might make it back into the professional set-up one day I’ve always wanted to play in front of friends and family for Wisbech – I’m desperate to do it again.”
