Centre-back George Essuman from Hemel Hempstead Town's Under-18 team played for Norwich City's Under-18s against Aston Villa on 2nd February 2013, a game in which Norwich won 1-0. The Hemel Hempstead Town website describe George as "a powerful, ball playing Centre Back who interested more than a few clubs but has put his faith in Ryan and the team to develop him into a complete all-round defender. Whilst there is room for further improvement, the Academy staff believe that George has the attributes to become an exceptional footballer." He was previously at Chingford School.

He later played for Leverstock Green and London Colney before joining Waltham Forest in February 2014.

In August 2016, he signed for Ryman League side Maldon & Tiptree United from Ware. It was reported that his previous clubs include Norwich City, West Ham United, Sheffield Wednesday and Enfield Town.

He then spent time with Grays Athletic before joining VCD Athletic in January 2017. He subsequently joined Dover but was loaned to Margate in early 2018.
