Arsenal youngster Kieran Gibbs joined Norwich on loan on 31st
January 2008 until the end of the 2007/8 season.
Kieran began his career at the Wimbledon academy but moved to
Arsenal when the Wimbledon Academy disbanded
He plays in the centre-midfield position but is also known to
play on the left wing. He has featured regularly for Arsenal's
U18 and Reserves teams and also played in pre-season friendlies
against Barnet and Inter Milan, the latter for which he received
a standing ovation when he was substituted. In September 2007
Gibbs signed a professional contract with Arsenal, and was named
in the club's 2007-08 UEFA Champions League squad and given squad
number 34.
He made his first-team debut for the club when he started a League
Cup match against Sheffield United on October 31, 2007
Kieran's debut for Norwich came in the 1-1 home draw with Hull
City on 12th February 2008. Gibbs made a total of seven appearances
for Norwich
Speculation at the beginning of August 2008 linked Kieran with
a loan move to Reading.
Gibbs was called into the England squad for the 11 August 2010
friendly clash with Hungary, and made his debut in the game as
a second half substitute.
On 17th May 2014, Gibbs helped Arsenal win the FA Cup beating
Hull City 3-2 in the final at Wembley. He added another trophy
when Arsenal beat Man City 3-0 in the Community Shield on 10th
August 2014.
In early Summer 2017, it was reported that both Newcastle, Stoke, Brighton, Watford, Galatasary and West Brom were all interested in signing Gibbs but were put off by Arsenal's £15million price tag. He had started only eight Premier League games in 2016/17 after losing his place to Nacho Monreal, and Sead Kolasinac’s recent arrival saw him drop down to third choice in that position. Gibbs finally moved to West Brom on 30th August 2017 for £7million, signing a four year deal with the Baggies.
Gibbs made 15 appearances in 2019/20 as West Brom returned to the Premier League as runners-up in the Championship behind Leeds.
On 23rd March 2021 it was announced that Gibbs would join David Beckham's Inter Miami when his contract with Premier League side ends in the summer. He had played only 11 times in the 2020/21 campaign at the time of the announcement. He is the Major League Soccer club's second signing from English football this year after the arrival of ex-Stoke City captain Ryan Shawcross.
West Brom were relegated from the Premier League on 9th May 2021 following a 3-1 defeat to Arsenal.
Gibbs made 28 appearances for Inter Miami scoring once. He announced his retirement on 23rd February 2023 and took up a role in the club's broadcasting team.
