Another product
of Norwich City's youth team, Daryl turned professional in September
1982. His only made two first team appearances - both as substitute.
His debut was at home to Spurs in December 1983 and another seventeen
minutes came at Nottingham Forest the following January. He moved
to Colchester United in August 1984 and made seven appearances for
them scoring once. He drifted into Norfolk's non-league scene with
spells at Wroxham (1986), Heartsease Macintosh, Wroxham again (1989),
Coltishall HV, Sprowston Wanderers and
Wroxham yet again (1992). Daryl is
also a keen and talented local cricketer. After working for a hairdressing
supplies company, he joined Norwich Union in 2001. Mike Davage's
article in the 2002/03 Norwich City handbook suggests that this
may be as a sales rep and financial advisor. Daryl is still connected
with the Canaries helping to run their Football In The Community
schemes
