19 year old goalkeeper Nick Hayes joined Norwich on 1st February 2018 on a six month contract. He was previously at Ipswich Town where he won three England Under-17 caps. He said. “I made my debut against Turkey, I played against Germany where I saved a penalty and I played the second-half against Portugal. He had a loan spell at Dunstable whilst with Ipswich and returned there in late 2018 after his release from Ipswich. He also spent some time with Woking in 2018.
He made his debut for the Under-23s the same day in a 6-2 defeat to West Brom.
He spent some of the 2019/20 season on loan to both Lowestoft and to Hertford Town. He was released by Norwich at the end of the 2019/20 season.
On 11th August 2020 it was confirmed that he had signed for League Two side Salford City. He played one game for Salford, a 6-0 defeat to Manchester United's Under-23s in the EFL Trophy.
On 5th February 2021 he moved to Hemel Hempstead Town.
Nick returned to Ipswich on 31st January 2022. "I see potential in Nick. He's the type of goalkeeper we want to work with and develop further," said head of goalkeeping Rene Gilmartin. "He has the foundations to be an excellent goalkeeper in the future."
On 7th October 2023 he was loaned to Southend for a month. He made four appearances for the Essex side.
On 15th December 2023 he was loaned to National League side Solihull Moors on a 28 day loan. On 13th January 2024 this was extended until the end of the season. He played 28 games for the Moors reaching the FA Trophy and National League play-off finals.
On 23rd May 2024 he signed for Barnet on a long-term contract.
