Goalkeeper Michael
Hilton was at Norwich City's academy for seven years reaching
the Under-16 squad for the 2004/5 season. On his release
in the summer of 2005, he trialled with York City and became one
of their new intake of trainees along with Jason Smith (ex-Preston),
Anthony Taylor (ex-Blackburn) and homegrown talents Michael Walsh,
Mark Holt, Ben Thornton, Danny Phillips and Chaz Wrigley.
Released by York, Hilton played in Kings Lynn's pre-season friendlies
against Norwich City (lost 4-0) and Cambridge City (lost 5-1).
After a short spell with Fakenham, he then signed for Ridgeons
League side Diss Town
Hilton left Diss in the summer of 2008 after being offered more
money by Great Yarmouth Town
On 14th July 2011, Hilton signed for Wroxham and is now locked in
a battle with legend
Scott Howie for the
No 1 jersey.
I was delighted to sign Michael and have always
discussed with Scotty that we need someone capable of challenging
him. Michael is young, kicks well and is a good size so I am confident
that he can do this commented David Batch.
