Peter Holcroft played
for Norwich's reserves against Portsmouth after he had been released
by Swindon in May 1999. He began his career with Everton as a trainee
before joining Swindon for whom he had made 3 appearances at the
beginning of the 1998/99 season. He had also spent some time on
loan with Exeter (6 games)
Sport First reported on 11th July 1999 that Peter was having
a trial with Wrexham.
The December 1999 edition of Team Talk magazine reported
that Peter had joined Conference side Morecambe. The following month,
it reported that Peter had joined Bursclough of the Unibond Northern
League Division One. The April 2000 edition reported that Peter
had joined Skelmersdale United of the First North West Trains North
West Counties League. However other reports omitted these moves
and stated that Peter joined Northwich Victoria from Swindon via
Exeter. Whatever the situation, he was released by Victoria in May
2001. Joined Kidsgrove Athletic scoring four times in his first
two games.
