Northern Ireland
international defender Iain Jenkins was to have a trial with the
Canaries in July 2000 according to sources at Carrow Road. The international
defender, with 5 caps, would join fellow countrymen Bryan Hamilton,
Nigel Worthington, Phil Mulryne, Adrian Coote and Paul McVeigh at
Carrow Road if he signed for the club. Iain began his career at
Everton but after a spell with Bradford, joined Chester where he
made 190 appearances. He joined Dundee in March 1998 but injuries
curtailed his career in Scotland to just 17 appearances. Norwich
fans will be pleased to hear Iain rejected Norwich to join Shrewsbury
for whom he made 16 appearances in 2000/01. Iain moved to Conference
side Chester in December 2001 but was transfer-listed in May 2002.
