Former Luton Under-18 defender Ciaran Jones signed for Norwich's Under-23 development squad on 30th June 2018. The 19-year-old, who had joined Luton from Brentford as an U12, was released in the summer despite scoring the winning goal in a 1-0 EFL Youth Alliance Cup final victory against Wigan Athletic last season.
Jones signed a new one year deal with City on 20th February 2019.
At the end of April 2019, various media sources linked Leicester City, West Ham and Liverpool with a swoop for Jones.
On 31st May 2019, he joined Eastbourne Borough of the National League South on a season long loan. He said "I'm delighted to be making a step up from U23s football with my first loan move. It's going to be good for me to get some proper experience of men's football. I'm really excited to get started in a tough league. I look forward to playing many games for Eastbourne."
Eastbourne boss Lee Bradbury said: "I am absolutely delighted that we have managed to secure the signature of Ciaren Jones from Premier League club Norwich City. Ciaren is a fantastic footballing centre-half that just needs some men's football for him to mature into the player he wants to be. I honestly think this lad has bright future ahead of him and I am excited at the prospect of him playing for us next season. I would like to thank Norwich loans manager Neil Adams for his help on getting this done."
The loan was ended in August 2019 with Jones returning to Norwich. Jones left Norwich by mutual consent on 7th February 2020.
On 16th October 2020 he signed for South Shields of the Northern Premier League. He moved to Hitchin Town on 2nd November 2020 and then to Gloucester City five days later. He later had a spell at Brackley before returning to Hitchin.
