German leftback Markus Kranz played for Norwich reserves in their
2-0 victory over Colchester on 18th December 2000. Then with Dutch
side Emmen, Markus began his career at Kaiserslauten and has also
played for Bayer Uerdingen, Dynamo Dresden and Fortuna Koln.
Injured whilst on trial at Norwich, he felt that he was unable
to truly show his talents to the Norwich management but his current
locations suggests that he wasn't suitable for the Canaries. Markus
rejoined Fortuna who were now playing in the regionalised German
Fourth Division. He combined this with studying to be a physiotherapist.
Markus has moved to FC Junkersdorf where fellow former Canary triallist
Dirk Hebel was Director of Football. They
won promotion via a playoff game after finishing second in the local
"Verbandsliga" and go up to the regionalised "Oberliga"
- fourth division. It has been reported in the local press that
Kranz, who is studying
physiotheraphy in Cologne, will stay with club next season.
