Biography

Many thanks to the November 1998 edition of Team Talk magazine for solving the mystery that has puzzled both myself and the Pink Un ie Where is Stacey Kreft.

Southampton born Stacey Kreft is a midfielder cum defender who was an Associate Schoolboy with Norwich in 1991/92 making two appearances for the Youth team. He was offered trainee professional terms and accepted for the period 1992/93 to 1993/94. He made 26 appearances for the Youths in 1992/93 and 3 Reserve team appearances. The following season saw him make 36 Youth team games scoring once in addition to 12 games (3 as substitute) for the Reserves. He signed professional terms in July 1995 at the end of his traineeship and was seen by the club primarily as a left back but with the ability to play on either flank or as a defensive marker. Impressing in the Reserves during 1994/95, he was called up to the senior squad on a couple of occasions but did not make the first team. He did though make 22 appearances for the Reserves. However he was released the following summer after making another 18 appearances for the Reserves in 1995/96.

His whereabouts since then have been a mystery until Team Talk magazine revealed that he had signed for DR Martens Southern League side Bashley from Netley Central.
