Danny Laws came to
footballing prominence when he turned the West Suffolk College
Football School, Bury St Edmunds, into a huge success. He
coupled this with coaching Suffolk to their first ever victory
in the FA County Youth Cup with a memorable victory at Portman
Road lin the spring of 2005.
He joined Norwich in September 2005 as their Education Director
for their Academy but quit in June 2006 to take up a PE teaching
post in September. On 19th June 2006, he was appointed joint manager,
with Chris Tracey, of Ridgeons League side Needham Market. Tracey
stepped down from his role to rejoin AFC Sudbury in July 2007
leaving Danny solely in charge.
In the 2009/10 season, Needham Market won both the Ridgeons League
and the Ridgeons Challenge Cup.
Laws took over from interim manager Lee Norfolk at Leiston at
the end of March 2013 and helped Leiston achieve a highest-ever
position in the clubs history as they ended the season in
12th place in the Ryman Premier. After a successful pre-season
and the acquisition of several experienced personnel, expectations
were high at Victory Road especially after a good start to the
season. However, results have declined somewhat culminating
in just one win, and that a Suffolk Premier Cup victory at Haverhill
Rovers, in 11 matches and this has seen the Blues enter
the relegation places.
He resigned from the managerial postion at Leiston on 15th October
2013.
As of 2019/20 he was Head Coach at AFC Sudbury.
