Teenage Brazilian winger Marquinhos joined Norwich City on 31st January 2023 on loan from Arsenal.

He joined Arsenal in June 2022 on a long-term deal from São Paulo and has since made six appearances for the Gunners. On his debut in the Europa League he scored and got an assist against FC Zurich.

He will wear the number 13 shirt. He knows fellow midfielder Gabriel Sara from Sao Paulo where he made 33 appearances.. He has been capped by Brazil at Under-16 and Under-17 levels..

Marquinhos said: "I'm really happy to arrive here in Norwich and very excited to play my first game. I've learnt a lot as part of my adaptation here in England. It's totally different to Brazil. It's more intensive but I'm adapting well in order to help Norwich. I'm also really happy to get to know a new club, a new culture and a new city. The fans can expect that I'll show desire."

Head coach David Wagner added: “We’re delighted to have been able to add Marquinhos to our group. He is a young and exciting wide player, who wants to learn and further continue his development."

Marquinhos made his Norwich debut on 25th February 2023 at home against Cardiff City after having been delayed through minor injuries. He started against Cardiff and assisted Gabriel Sara for the first City goal and then scored the second in a 2-0 win. He made 11 appearances for City, scoring once and getting sent off once.

On 2nd August 2023 it was reported by the Pink Un that Marquinhos would be joining Greek side Olympiacos on loan although three days later speculation had him joining French side Nantes. He joined Nantes on 12th August 2023 on a season long loan,

He was recalled on 12th January 2024. He had made just seven appearances, making one assist.

On 15th February 2024 he returned to Brazil joining Fluminense on loan until January 2025.
