Ben Marshall signed for Norwich from Wolves on 30th June 2018 on a four year deal reported to be around £1.3million.
Marshall, who can play as a winger of right-back, began his career at Machester United signing for them in 1997. He then moved to Crewe Alexandra in 2003. He turned professional with Stoke City in 2009 but struggled to break into the first team and was loaned to Northampton (15 appearances, 2 goals), Cheltenham (6 appearances, 2 goals),.Carlisle (53 appearances, 6 goals) and Sheffield Wednesday (22 appearances, 5 goals)..
On 31st January 2012, he joined Leicester City for £750,000 and went on to make 56 appearances, scoring seven goals. He moved to Blackburn Rovers on 28th August 2013 , making 126 appearances and scoring 11 goals before he was signed by Wolves on 31st January 201, reuniting him with former Blackburn manager Paul Lambert.. He would make 22 appearances for Wolves
On 31st January 2018, he was loaned to Millwall until the end of the 2017/18 season and made 16 appearances as the Lions exceeded expectations with a top ten finish.
Marshall made his Norwich debut on 4th August 2018, starting in the 2-2 away draw at Birmingham City
On 16th January 2019, Marshall returned to Millwall on loan. He had struggled with injuries at Norwich and struggled to break into the first team. He had played just six games for the first team.
On 27th July 2019, Marshall’s contract with Norwich was cancelled by mutual consent.
In January 2020 he held talks with Rotherham but it was then reported that he had signed for West Lancashire Premier League side Stoneclough in the Autumn of 2019,playing with his mates. "It's gone mad all of a sudden," said club secretary Peter Conroy, speaking to the Bolton News. "This has caused a real buzz, but he's actually been with us since October, he is a local lad, from Swinton way, and he was mates with a few of the lads and just wanted to come down just to get fit. We had to contact Norwich City to get him released, which you never think you'll have to do in amateur football, and we've had Sky Sports on wanting to cover the story too.
He moved to Darwen FC, of the North West Counties League, on 1st June 2023.
