According to the King's Lynn website,
wingback Martin Matthews was previously with Norwich City, Derby
County and Northampton. In June 1998, he followed Lynn's manager
Peter Morris to Kettering Town of the GM Vauxhall Conference.
He remained with Kettering until May 2005 when he joined Grantham.
He left them in May 2006 due to work commitments. He signed the
following month for Stamford along with Mark Clifford, Danny
Hammond, Adam Jones the latter two joining from Martin's
old club Kings Lynn.
Matthews announced his retirement on 21st May 2007 after being
plagued by persistent ankle and knee problems.
