Biography

Philip Wright told me that the Edward McCallion who played for the Norwich City A team in 1994/95 followed the same career path as Ben Brewer, ie Blackburn then released. He joined Coleraine on loan from Blackburn in January 1998 making 9 appearances. However he transferred to Derry City in September 1998. Edward was part of the same Northern Ireland U21 side as his ex City teammate Adrian Coote that played Switzerland on 21st April 1998.

He spent 14 years with Derry, making 315 appearances, before joining Glenavon in June 2012 on a two-year deal. He has won the FAI Cup twice (2002, 2006) and the League of Ireland Cup six times (1999-2000, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2011).

The Derry website reported that Eddie had also played for Newcastle as a youngster.
