Former Norhern 
                Irish international and onetime Newcastle manager Willie McFaul 
                was recruited by Norwich City manager Glenn Roeder to scout for 
                the Canaries.
              Signed from 
                Linfield by Newcastle in 1966 after impressing in a friendly match, 
                goalkeeper McFaul served Newcastle as player, coach, assistant 
                manager and then finally from August 1985 to October 1988 as Newcastle's 
                manager. He won 6 caps for Northern Ireland.
              He has since 
                managed clubs in his homeland, including Coleraine, and also the 
                South Pacific nation of Guam.About 1000 of Guam's 155,000 population 
                were playing the beautiful game when Willie arrived. By the time 
                he left that figure had almost doubled to 1800. His legacy includes 
                nine youth soccer clubs in Guam and kids keen on soccer receive 
                coaching from the age of six up to 16.
