Matthew Montif, aged 18 in 2004, is a left-sided midfielder born
in Peterborough. He had trials for Norwich City at Colney in 1999
but couldn't attend the second week because of transport problems.
He was offered a place with Gadeside Rangers(Watford) Under 15s
offered a place there but couldn't travel to London from Peterborough
every week. He won the treble treble with Peterborough City and
from there won a place in Huntingdonshire County U 16-18 with
manager Roy Fisher. This led to the trial for Peterborough United
Under-17s until it disbanded. He also trialled with Cambridge
United in 2001.
Matthew played for Deeping Rangers FC U18 and has played for
their senior side. The under-18s featured in the F.A Youth cup
where they reached the 1st round proper. He joined Shepshed Dynamo
for the 2005/6 season before moving to Peterborough Northern Star
FC (United Counties League) for the 2006/7 campaign.
Other side he has played for include Fulbridge Primary School
FC,Thorney Colts Under9's, Milton FC U-11-12's, Fletton Ex U-13's,
ICA Juventus U-13's, Abbey U14-15's, Eye United U-16's & Peterborough
North End.
