Born in Llanelli but
raised in Llantrisant in the Rhondda valley, Wayne Morgan joined
Norwich in 1991 when we was spotted playing for the Welsh FA's
Under-14 development squad by Norwich's South-West and Wales scout
Richard Everson. Wayne had already won Welsh Under-15 and Under-16
honours. He was invitied to trials at Norwich the following whitsun
holiday, impressed the Canaries' coaching staff and signed Associate
Schoolboy forms. For the next two season, he was a regular at
left-back in Norwich's Under-15 and Under-16 squads and also played
for the City B team and eventualy progressed to the main Youth
team and Reserves.
He was released by
Norwich in 1996 and since 1998 has played for Welsh League Division
Two side Pontyclun, his hometown club. An informant emailed me
to say that Wayne is currently working for David Lloyd's fitness
centre in Cardiff.
