Raised in Den Haag in the Netherlands, Hans Mpongo moved to South London aged 14 in 2016. He had a trial with Norwich but it didn't progress. He then played with the Albatross Academy in London and then moved to the ProChance Academy. He then turned out for Sydenhams Football League (Wessex) outfit Andover Town and represented England Schools.
In October 2021 he joined Needham Market of the Southern League.
in January 2022 he joined Brentford's B team after a successful trial. After eight appearances for the B team, he then spen two months on loan to Icelandic side IBV. He left Brentford in June 2022.
He had another spell in Iceland with Throttur Vogum from July to December 2022.
In July 2023 he joined the Under-21 side of Dutch team NAC Breda, In February 2024 they transferred him to Solvenian side Tabor Sezana. He then moved back to Holland with Rijnvogels in October 2024.
