Norwich youth team
player Pitshou Ngopwani made his international debut in the summer
of 1999 when he represented Northern Ireland at under 18 level.
Born in Zaire, he was eligible to play for any of the home counites
but after discussions with Irishmen
Bryan
Hamilton and
Sammy Morgan, opted
for Northern Ireland. He played against Boca Juniors, Ettoria (Brazil)
and the Turkish National XI. Pitshou had joined the Canaries as
a schoolboy
Pitshou was released by Norwich during the latter stages of the
2000/01 campaign when he reached the end of his three year academy
scholarship.He had a trial with Southend in July 2001 playing for
their reserves in pre-season friendlies against Hendon (12th) and
Canvey Island (14th) Although he didn't make an impression with
the Shrimpers, he must have had a decent game against Hendon for
he later signed for them, making his debut against Braintree in
September 2001. By the early part of 2003, Pitshou was playing for
Chalfont St Peter. That summer, he trialled with Harrow Borough.
