Dylan O'Donnell was part of Norwich's Under-16 team during 2016/17 but also played for the Under-18s, making his first appearance against Spurs on 3rd December 2016.
On 3rd December 2017 he transferred to Stevenage signing an eighteen month Academy scholarship. He made his professional debut for Stevenage in the club's 3–1 League Two victory over Exeter City on 28th April 2018, coming on as a 90th-minute substitute in the match
In December 2018 he joined Great Yarmouth Town on a work experience loan. He scored three goals in five appearances.
In January 2019 he joined Southern League side Kings Langley. He then trialled with Wealdstone and Hayes & Yeading United in the summer of 2019 before joining the latter and making his Southern League debut away at Tiverton on 10th August 2019.
After a spell in Sweden with Gottne IF in Sweden, he joined Leiston in September 2020. He had a short spell with St Neots on loan in early 2022 before returning to Leiston. He was released in the summer of 2022 and joined Avro FC in January 2023. They play in the Northern Premier League Division One West and are based in the Limeside area of Oldham
He changed his name by deed poll to Dylan Switters in July 2018.
