Defender Gavin Pauling, from Norwich, made 32 appearances for the Youth team during the 1989/90 season but was not taken on as a professional. He was part of the Wroxham side that won the Jewson Eastern Counties League and Norfolk Senior Cup in 1996/97. Gavin joined Wroxham from Swaffham in the summer of 1991. His appearances for Wroxham were limited during 1998/99 as he was working in Cornwall.

Gavin left Wroxham for Diss in the summer of 2000 but returned to Trafford Park the following summer. Gavin rejoined Diss in the summer of 2004 but returned to Wroxham in July 2005.
