Polish Under-21 winger Przemyslaw Placheta joined Norwich on a four year contract on 22nd July 2020 from Slask Wroclaw for a fee reported to be 3million Euros.
Płacheta started his youth career for Polish side Pelikan Łowicz before joining ŁKS Łódź and Polonia Warsaw's youth teams. He later played for the Red Bull Leipzig academy in Germany and made his professional debut in the German third tier for Sonnenhof Großaspach in 2017.
He returned to Poland when his mother was ill and joined Pogoń Siedlce.in 2018 making 11 appearances. He then joined Podbeskidzie Bielsko-Biała and made 25 appearances for the club in 2018/19. In 2019, Płacheta signed for Śląsk Wrocław for around 300,000złoty. During a pre-season tour, Płacheta reached a speed of 35.22 kilometres per hour (21.88 mph), the highest recorded speed for any Polish league player that pre-season. He scored 8 goals in 35 appearances in the Polish top flight, and provided five assists, earning him a transfer to Norwich.
He has played for Poland at Under-18, Under-19, Under 20 and Under-21 level, having made one appearance for the latter at the time of his transfer to England.
Placheta made his Norwich debut on 12th September 2020 coming on as a 76th minute substitute for Onel Hernandez in the 1-0 away win at Huddersfield. He scored his first goal for Norwich in the 2-2 home draw with Preston the following Saturday (19th September) after coming on as substitute.
Called up into the full Poland squad for the first time in November 2020, he made his international debut against the Ukraine on 10th November providing an assist for Jakub Moder to score Poland's second goal in a 2-0 win. He then played in a 2-1 defeat to the Netherlands (coming up against City teammate Tim Krul.
He made 28 appearances in 2020/21 as Norwich won the Championship title. He was also named in Poland's provisional squad for the delayedEuro 2020 Championships. He became Norwich's seventh player to ever feature at the European Championships when he came on as substitute in Poland's 3-2 defeat to Sweden that saw them eliminated from the tournament.
He made 14 appearances for Norwich during 2021/22 as City were relegated from the Premier League.
In June 2022 he was linked with loan moves to Birmingham City and a permanent move to AEK Athens, according to Polish news site Meczyki. On 9th July 2022 he finally completed a season long loan to Birmingham. He is hoping for increased game time ahead of the World Cup to which Poland have qualified.
His loan was cut short and he returned to Norwich at the beginning of January 2023. Injuries had limited him to five appearances and one goal for Birmingham.
On 31st December 2023 Slask Wroclaw's Sporting Director David Balta spoke that they would be interested in a return for Placheta but that it would take a compromise in wages from the City winger. He was entereing the final six months of his Norwich contract and Legia Warsaw were also reported to be interested. He had struggled for game time during 2023/4 and had been primarily used as a left-back. He had started just three games.in the first half of the season. On 26th January 2024 it was reported that Norwich were willing to sanction a transfer for Placheta during the January transfer window to free up space in the squad. He has reportedly been told that he is free to find a new club and Rotherham are said to be keeping tabs.
On 1st February 2024 he signed for Swansea City until the end of the season. He had played 61 times for Norwich, scoring twice. Placheta made his Swans debut on 3rd February 2024 as a 57th minute substitute in a 1-0 defeat at home to Plymouth.
On 17th May 2024 Swansea announced that they would not be keeping Placheta. He had played 10 games for the Swans.
On 15th July 2024 he signed for Championship newboys Oxford United.
