After months of speculation, Norwich signed Lincoln City's 23 year old defender Sean Raggett on 18th August 2017 for an undisclosed fee. He was then loaned back to Lincoln until January 2018. Raggett scored seven goals in 47 appearances to help the Imps achieve promotion from the Conference in 2016/17,
A former Gillingham youth player, he joined Dover Athletic aged 16 and was loaned to Sittingbourne, Herne Bay and Whistable Town. He went on to make 150 appearances for Dover, helping them win promotion to the Conference in 2014/15 before moving to Lincoln in 2016.
He has been capped by England's C squad against the Republic of Ireland's Under-21s in June 2015.
Raggett made his debut for Norwich in the 1-0 win over Bristol City on January 13th 2008 as a late substitute. His next appearance was in the 5-1 defeat to Sheffield Wednesday on the final day of the 2017/18 season (6th May 2018)
On 25th July 2018, he was loaned to Championship rivals Rotherham for the 2018/19 season although the Canaries have an option to recall him in January 2019. Norwich head coach Daniel Farke said: "He needs game-time and we've found a solution that he's able to play at our level." However injuries limited him to just seven appearances
On 27th June 2019, he was loaned to Portsmouth on a season-long loan to regain match fitness. It was reported that Peterborough almost signed him on a permanent basis prior to his Pompey loan.
On 20th March 2020 it was reported that Raggett was one of four Portsmouth players to be tested positive for Coronavirus Covid-19. He later revealed that he was in the pub when he discovered he had tested positive as he had no symptoms.
Raggett made 38 appearances as Portsmouth reached the League One play-offs only to be defeated in the semi-finals by Oxford.
Raggett was released by Norwich on 22nd July 2020 and was quickly linked with Gillingham, Oxford and Portsmouth. He completed his return to Portsmouth on 3rd August 2020 signing a two year deal.
On 16th April 2024 Raggett was in the Portsmouth team that beat Barnsley 3-2 to secure the League One title. It was his 200th appearance for Pompey since he signed in August 2020.
On 1st May 2024 it was announced that Raggett would be leaving Portsmouth on the expiry of his contract. He was linked with Wrexham who had been promoted to League One. He had played a total of 239 games for Pompey, scoring 17 goals.
On 24th May 2024 Sean became Rotherham's fifth signing of the 2024 summer transfer window, joining on a two year contract. He is the second player to join the club from Portsmouth in May 2024after fellow defender Joe Rafferty, while Sheffield Wednesday defender Reece James, Northampton midfielder Shane McWilliams and Peterborough striker Jonson Clarke-Harris also signed.
