Portuguese midfielder Joao Rangel was listed as being part of Under 9s squad in 2010/11 and the Under-13s in 2013/14. The Official Club handbook listed him as one of the Under-15s in 2015-16. He was listed by Soccerway website as being on the fringes of the Under-18 squad in 2016-17.

He was released by Norwich in the 2016/17 season and joined Barnsley. In the 2018/19 season he was loaned to Mansfield.

He returned to Portugal for the 2019/20 season playing for the youth team of Academica. He then joined Nogueirense in July 2020 before returning to England in August 2021 playing for Gainsborough, Pontrefract and Kings Lynn (signing for the latter in September 2022).

He moved to Gorleston in March 2023, making seven appearances before signing for Wroxham in July 2023.
