Biography

Mel Rees of West Bromwich Albion came to Norwich on loan in February 1992 as cover for Mark Walton during Bryan Gunn's absence from the game due to injury.

Mel began his career at Cardiff but later joined Watford. Loan spells at Crewe, Southampton and Leyton Orient brought a variety of settings for Mel to demonstrate his abilities before he joined WBA. After his spell at Norwich, Mel joined Sheffield United and then finished his career at Chesterfield.

It is with great sadness that I inform the visitors of this website that Mel passed away due to cancer in 1993 at the age of 26.
