England Under-16 international Waylon Renecke made his debut for Norwich City's Under-18s in their 4-1 defeat to Brighton on 11th November 2021. He went on to play over 1000 minutes for the Under-18s during 2021/22.
He is from Peterborough and played for them from Under-9 to Under-13s after being spotted at a Peterborough United Development Centre. He joined Norwich in 2019.
Waylon has played for England's Under-15s and played for the England Under-16s against Scotland in August 2021.
He signed as an apprentice with Norwich in July 2022. He is a left-back or left centre-back.
In April 2023 he was called up to the South Africa Under-17 squad for the Under-17 African Cup of Nations taking place in April and May in Algeria. Reneke's parents are both from Cape Town. A successful tournament for South Africa could lead to qualification for the 2023 FIFA Under-17 World Cup. He played for South Africa in the tournament but lost in the quarter finals to Senegal in which Waylon scored an own goal..
He signed a professional contract with Norwich on 7th July 2023.
On 16th March 2024 he was included on the bench for Norwich for their away clash at Stoke City (which the Canaries won 3-0).
At the end of August 2024 there was considerable speculation that he would be signing for Danish side FC Copenhagen. This was completed on 2nd September. He will initially play for their under-19 side. City will receive a compensation fee for Renecke decided by tribunal, after he made the decision to leave the Canaries for the Europa Conference League club. Copenhagen's head of scouting and recruitment Mikkel Lund Køhler said "We are satisfied we have got another great talent in the central defender position at the club. Waylon is a player with a good education from Norwich who we believe we can develop at F.C. Copenhagen and unlock great potential. Now we have to help him take the next steps."
