West Ham's Irish Under-19 international winger Anthony Scully played for the Norwich under-23 team as a trialist against Reading on 20th August 2018. He played 70 minutes of the match.
He is the son of former Crystal Palace, Man City, Notts County and QPR winger Tony Scully. He joined West Ham in 2011 and was “billed as one of the most exciting players at the Academy”, according to their club website. He worked his way up from the Under-16s to the Under-18s, and first turned out for the Under-21s in the 2015/16 campaign.
He has also trialled with Notts Forest.
On 3rd February 2020 he transferred to Lincoln City and scored on his debut 12 days later against Accrington Stanley.
After 37 goals in 106 games for Lincoln, he was signed by Wigan on 1st September 2022 for an undisclosed fee. He signed a three year contract with the Latics.
Wigan were relegated from the Championship on 29th April after drawing 1-1 with Reading and other scores went against them.
Scully made just five appearances for Wigan and transferred to Portsmouth on 16th June 2023, signing a two year contract, with the club having an option to extend the deal by a further 12 months.
Scully made nine appearances for Portsmouth in 2023/24 as they won the League One title.
On 30th August 2024 he joined Colchester on a season-long loan.
