Goalkeeper Liam Sharpe
joined Norwich's Under-18s on a six week loan in the autumn of
2012, making his debut in the 3-1 home defeat to Blackburn's Under-18s
on 5th November 2012.
Liam spent time at
Birmingham City and Derby County before signing on with Manchester
City in 2011. Liam is originally from Tamworth where he attended
Rawlett School and received mentoring from legendary Welsh stopper
Neville Southall. He is described as a good shot stopper and a
commanding presence in the penalty area.
Liam returned to Manchester
City on 15th December 2012
On 4th March 2013,
he was loaned to Leicester City and subsequently made the move
permanent.
In the summer of 2014,
he moved to Wrexham playing for their first team in pre-season
friendlies. He was then loaned to Colwyn Bay in August 2014
In July 2015, he was
linked with a move to Swansea who released goalkeepers Gerhard
Tremmel and David Cornell at the end of the 2014/15 season.
He left Wrexham in May 2016 and worked for a number of coaching companies before joining Aston Villa's Women's Team as goalkeeping coach before becoming their Women's Under-21 Assistant Coach in July 2022.
