Fakenham Town left winger Dean Symonds had a trial with the Canaries in April 2000 playing for the Under-19 Academy side in a friendly against Anglian Combination Premier Division side North Walsham. Dean was spotted playing for Gayton youth who won the Norfolk Youth Combination under 17 A section title in 2000. He later joined Fakenham to whom he returned in 2006 after a spell with Dereham. He is described as a hard worker and a good crosser of the ball.
